Proposed for the FY26 Capital Improvement Program. Citywide. $5,000,000 requested; $1,017,515 recommended by the resident advisory board; $1,017,515 in the Mayor's budget.
Official description: This climate-forward project to replace up to 20 acres of aged irrigation systems will help shape a water—and resource-conscious future for many of our parks and public lands. It has two essential parts: improving irrigation efficiency and replacing some turf areas with low-water, regionally appropriate plantings.
